Our outstanding sun protective cream just got better... SPF12 you can spend more worry free time in the sun.  We utilize standard zinc oxide (not the micronized or nano particle zinc oxides which have health concerns), the single best broad-spectrum sunscreen available to protect your delicate facial skin from damaging UV A and UV B rays.  We've also added our organic Trifolium Pratense extract (red clover) from the fields of Meadowlake Farm which is photo-protective, meaning it prevents sun induced redness and swelling plus long term oxidative sun damage.

Standard zinc oxide is a mineral that provides complete UVB/UVA protection and is considered safe.  It is the only FDA approved sunscreen for use in children under 6 months of age.  However, the standard form will leave a white residue on the skin in higher concentrations.  This is why our products do not carry as high an SPF as those products that contain the nano-particle sized zinc oxide.What does that mean for you?  This product has an SPF of 12, which means the average person may stay in direct, constant sunlight for approximately 2 hours before having to re-apply. 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: This product has a heavier consistency than our other creams due to the amount of standard zinc oxide (a powder) it contains.  To assure even coverage, apply to damp skin.  To facilitate blending you may apply a few dabs of water to your skin and work cream into skin.   

While too much sun can cause sunburn and skin damage, routine, moderate sunlight  is essential to your health. Sunlight is our primary source of vitamin D, when our skin is exposed to it we generate it.  Vitamin D reduces the risk of certain cancers, prevents bone loss and depression.  To synthesize enough vitamin D  you must expose 25% of your skin to sunlight for 15 to 20 minutes a day three times a week year round.  Sunscreen does not interfere with the the synthesis of vitamin D.
